Item Stock Viewer

Staff guide for reviewing stock totals, history, and stock batches by item.

What Is Item Stock Viewer?

Item Stock Viewer is the Inventory view for checking stock from the item point of view. Instead of starting from one warehouse shelf or one stock batch, staff start with an item and review:

  • total stock for that item
  • stock split by R, F, and D
  • recent stock movement history for the item
  • current stock batches that can be opened in Stock Detail Viewer

Use Item Stock Viewer when the question is "what stock do we have for this item?" Use Stock Detail Viewer when the question is about one specific lot or batch.

Review Stock By Item

Viewing Stock by Item requires one of the stock read or stock action roles.

  1. Open Inventory > Stock by Item in the Web client, or Stock > Stock by Item in the Warehouse app.
  2. Search by item keyword, item code, item name, or barcode.
  3. Review the total quantity and the R/F/D summary shown in the item row.
  4. Open the item row to review the full Item Stock view.
  5. Use History to understand recent movements and adjustments for the item.
  6. Use Stocks to review active lots and open Stock Detail Viewer when one batch needs closer review or an action.

History Tab

The History tab shows item-level stock history across stock batches. It is useful when staff need to see why the item quantity changed or which lot was moved, adjusted, split, received, allocated, picked, or returned.

History rows are read-only. They do not perform stock actions by themselves.

Stocks Tab

The Stocks tab shows current active stock batches for the item. It is loaded when staff open the tab so the first item view can focus on the summary and history.

Select a stock row to open Stock Detail Viewer. Move, Adjust, and Split are controlled by the user's stock action roles in Stock Detail Viewer.

Required Roles

ActionRequired role

Stock action roles also allow viewing Item Stock Viewer because staff need to inspect the item and stock batch before performing an action. A user with only stock.read can review the item stock dashboard and stock detail, but cannot move, adjust, or split stock.
